Why Sustainability Matters?
Profit should be the primary focus of any business, but not to the detriment of the people that rely on it, the natural surroundings, or the planet earth. Entrepreneurs, investors, and execution teams collectively form new ventures. The objective of the business is to generate profit, which ensures the success of both the company and its investors, encouraging reinvestment of profits into increased business growth, job growth, and socioeconomic growth, and fostering innovation. Organizationally, it’s also essential for them to bear in mind the possible negative effects on their own and on others and take every precaution possible to avoid or minimize them.
For each startup idea that passes through a market validation phase, our sustainability mapping team will objectively assess and map relevant sustainability aspects from the following four key dimensions by looking at its effects throughout the ecosystem. Consequently, our ventures build strategic plans that are focused on creating sustainable & scalable businesses with clarity on the purpose for their existence, their own relevant core values and culture, and how they will have a net positive impact with regard to profits, people, and the planet earth.
Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are objectives for overcoming some of the most challenging problems in the world. The SDGs are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all and provide an essential framework for governments and businesses to channel their efforts toward addressing recognized challenges. All startups have the opportunity to make collective action to address these global issues.
Our goal in nurturing startups is to generate positive changes in their sphere of operation that open up avenues of growth for the direct, indirect, and value-chain impacts on solving challenging problems of the world. Each one of our startups will align its mission with relevant SDG goals, indicators, and targets. Our startups shall prioritize, implement, continually measure, and refine their contributions to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals over time.
